A good way to cut stripwood.

Just knocked up a quick video, which may interest some of you.

Clever arrangement and aleviates the need for a small table saw, which is what I was leaning toward. While imminently "workable" I percieve a couple of possible problems.1. Feeding wood from above would tend to distort soft balsa from weight of feeder's hand, 2. I worry about that spinning blade with no guard. A simple wooden sheild from a routed block could be clamped over the outer 2/3's portion before a production run.

I have some hard balsa rib caps to rip in 1/8 sheet and this may be the solution. thanks for sharing.

I never let safety issues bother me.

And, the blade is no worse than a propeller.

"Crushing" is just not an issue. This system does work really well. I don't claim that it's the best, but it is simple, cheap and quick. The resultant stripwood is dimensionally accurate.
