Something from the "proposed, but never built" category.
From Flight magazine for 1 July 1960.

Here's an interesting proposal... an airliner based on the Convair B-58 Hustler.

Question
Airline Decals
Somewhere in all the articles or pictures that I have looked at or read, I saw the decal, not sure just what you would call it, that runs the length of the plane on the side. It had the head of an eagle at the start, I know this is not really clear but if you know what I am looking for it is enough.
If you could give the name of the airline or the manufacture that used it so I could send a photo to Callie Graphics I would be a happy camper

Thanks
Ken

A historical note... the link is to the first hint of the Concorde in Flight magazine.
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchi...0-%201725.html

Note it was provisionally called the "Super-Caravelle."

Yes Indeed Sir, SUD avaition didn't have the money to tackle this project alone so they partnered with the British to create the Concorde.

David,
That brings back lots of memories, walking through the hanger at Filton and seeing the plywood mockup of the SST nose and cockpit for the first time, must have been in 1959. At Bristol we had two SST projects in the preliminary design phase, the Bristol 198 and the Bristol 223. The 198 was a six engine, big version for 150 seats, and the 223 was the smaller one for 100 seats and shorter range. I always though we should have done the 198 to compete with the 707, but the decision was to go with the 223 and merge it with the Super Caravelle. The plan layout of the two airplanes was virtually identical. I did a lot of the CG control system design and since the French were designing the wing, I had more French drawings on my desk than English ones.
Thanks for the memories, as one old song went.

Ivor
