That was bad luck you missing the mount. you could also try the 24hr support chat if in a couple of working days you haven't heard from them.

How the air boat behaves in (slightly) rough water? Did anyone try it in the sea?

Just applied the decals, they're a bit rubbish as they were just shoved in the box and got all creased and wrinkled and I can't get the bubbles out have use a flat card I use for applying decals etc but they keep popping up, other than that it don't look too bad, one or two mite be a bit out if place but it's ok I used Velcro to stick the figures on

Hope this mount doesn't take too long

Well the mount arrived today

Just finished installing electrics

Robbed 30a turnigy esc out of my t45 which I'm upgrading anyway ,extended the wires and applied liquid tape to connections, sealed esc with silicone, glued servo to the side and rx in a balloon , cut the tray slightly so it will still fit

Gave quick test not on water, forgot these plush esc's get quite warm quick so I hope it'll be ok seeing as they're isn't really any cooling running gens ace 3s 1000's batteries, made sure I applied thread lock on all screws

And I applied small drop of glue to keep the guns in the hands

Ready to go

Just got bit by the dawg bug. Planning on just messing around and using as a recovery (if needed, hope not) for my sea planes. Will start flying on water in a few weeks. Should be ready for pickup monday.

?Recovery vessel

I tried to use the buggy as a recovery vechicle for my "fast" boat but found it was not very maneuverable at low speeds needed to get a good postion on an over turned boat. Since I now don't have a recovery means I turned down the steering travel to help me make less mistakes.

Anybody had success with it recovering overturned speed boats?

I think you're gonna have to make some kind of "cow catcher" rig to snag a boat. I bought mine to recover my seaplanes which present more of their structure above the water line. Fortunately haven't had to use it for that, yet.

Thanks

G550Ted,

Great idea! It should be pretty easy w/ the prop & rudder sticking up out of the water! I was trying to push the speed boat.

I used a D2826-6 2200kv Outrunner Motor. Can't remember how mounted it but I did use the shock mount.

I can't help but think this will not make a good recovery boat. too light and no real hull in the water I ended up buying a tugboat and building this for it.

Two things:
How do the motor mounts go, mine curve to the front, I have seen some curve to the rear, or does it matter?

I want to put a larger motor on the dawg, how would it mount?

Thanks

Mounts go forward to maintain cg. If going with another you would have to fab a new way to mount it.

My Swamp Dawg

Hello, just finished building my first RC boat, I usually fly quads.

Nice kit, only fault was that alignment between propeller and propeller hub was bad (wobbling).

So far only tested on carpets and wet grass.

Saturday in daylight i am going to the local lake for some serious air boat racing.

Enclose some pictures.
