Help!
HobbyKing PQ battery plugged in backwards

I'm wondering if someone can tell me if there is a chance, after plugging the battery in backwards, if my HK PQ can be repaired or if its done. It still shows up and seems to function properly in the MultiWii program as if everything is ok. However, with the battery plugged in properly, now only the red led lights up, no blue led or receiver led.
BTW, I've purchased my first ever set of reading glasses since then.

What happens when you arm it? Are the end points set as necessary (1000-2000 and everything close to 1500 at neutral )? Have you calibrated each esc?

It was flying great with both my OrangeRX T-Six and my DX8 with the ORX R100 until I plugged in the battery backwards. Then it would show up in MultiWii, but once unplugged from my computer, would not arm at all.

THAT IS FANTASTIC!!! I'll post my results as soon as I can attempt the repair, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know what it is about that little guy, I just love it.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

here I go too... I ordered the Turnigy Micro X quad, and also a NQX board along with the Chaoli motors for my Ladybird frame. Can't get enough of this micro stuff. I also read somewhere around here that they might be making the Chaoli motor for the Proto-X. If they do, then I'll just have to get the proper contoller to really wake those little guys up.

So... I tried the jumper repair... I thought it looked great (with my new 2.5x reading glasses and under my workbench light with a magnifying glass) until I took a picture and zoomed in

When I plugged it into the computer, all 3 LEDs light up, it seems to be functioning properly in the MultiWii program and will even respond to Tx input.
When I disconnect it from the computer and plug in the battery, only the red and receiver LED light up, no blue LED.
Just to see what would happen, I then tried uploading a sketch file again with the same results.

So then I was wondering about the bootloader. I'm guessing if it functions properly in MultiWii, I should not have even had to bother with the sketch file, let alone have to upload a new bootloader. So while I was pondering things and poking around on HKs website, I noticed 1 PQ was in stock. Talk about impulse buying...

I read on the PQ thread somewhere that indeed a sketch file can be loaded without the bootloader. Waiting on a FTDI tool to try one last attempt. Wish I had the tool before I added the jumper. If uploading the bootloader works I can continue practicing my soldering skills when I order the replacement component I removed. Maybe its time to get a hot air station

The bone stock quad works with the gui really good without the Bootloader. To upload the bootloader you will need a usbasp (from ebay, its faster and in stock) they are also a good tool to have around if you plan on keeping going with the quads

Did you end up getting the usbasp to get it going again?
