enya 40-4c or 120-4c?

I'm starting a little engine collection and truth is, it's a little expensive now.

so, if you had a choice between keeping either enya 120-4c or the 40-4c. which would you choose?

Keep the 40 and sell the 120. The 40's are much harder to come by.
I have 3 of the 40's and 6 of the 120R's.

There is a difference between the 120 and the 12O R (Racing) the R version is not so easy to find.

Good question indeed. I did check the NIB version I've got and can find no indication on the engine itself. But it does say clearly on the box. Also the R is mentionned on the instruction leaflet. Differences between the 120 and the 120-R : the 120 has a weight of 780gram and has 1,6hp at 11000rpm where the 120-R has a weight of 910gram and an output of 2,10hp at 12500rpm.
The R-version does have a matt black tappet cover and I think the standard 120 does not have this feature, but mind, I am not sure about this, I cannot compare with a 120 since I do'nt own one. One other difference may be the carburettor ? I would like to hear from someone that does have both versions.
So let's hear it from Enya experts.

See the picture, the differences.
On top the R
Second picture of a 120 4C of myself, compared with the R120 4C in another point of view.

Nice to help us out T and yes I guessed right about the carb, that unusual matt alu intake tube should have told me. I do not have many Enya's. The V-twin is a goodlooking sturdy engine. Never ran it. Shame I know.

Besides the intake manifold, the 120-4C crankcase has "120" stamped inside a spot face and -4C in raised letters, while the R120-4C has "120-4C" cast in raised letters. The earlier 120-4C was built on the 90-4C crankcase, so they modified the cases with the appropriate marking. The RCM review articles for both engines are available from rcmplans.com

Taurus flyer, great information, helps alot. The one i have i acquired with no box or paperwork. It also appears to have not been run,did have magnets on the crankshaft, probably for conversion to ignition.Don't know what make of ignition it is so i removed it,Needs the control box but i don't know much about it.It definetly is the 'R' version though. Many thanks,,,,Freddy
