By kind permission, the British Electric Flight Association have allowed the UK F5D Association to have a flightline at their prestigious 2 day international Electric Flight Event at Middle Wallop. So we have decided to hold a "Festival of Speed".

We will put a pylon course up with the timing gear and have a radar gun.

We hope to have a competition of some sort and will entertain models of any class Speed 400, E2K, pico/micro jets and F5D and F5D(Limited) or F5B. Or indeed anyone who has a model that is vaguely fast and wants to know how fast it really is.

We'll work out a timetable and actual competitions closer to the event, but this will be based on practice flying in the morning with low key competitions in the afternoon.

So come on, time to shake the dust off your old racer and give it a blast around our course.

Please let me know if you intend on coming as this will help with organisation.
Most likely 2.4Ghz only, but I'm sure we can work something out if you're still old school - we should be able to grab a couple of frequencies from the other flightline.

No problems for the morning session, but, priority would have go to pylon racing and speed run attempts in the afternoon, depending on who and what turns up.

Your course would be useful to set up a speed trap.

I am hopefull that the Overlander boys can donate a Speed Gun and we should be able to get our hands on it next weekend at the Mini Nats at Barkstone.

I am squeezing a lot of cells in a Jibe1 with a high strenght wing Franco made for me a few years ago so hope that I sould be able to get some impressive numbers from the combo but as of todays date it is yet untested.

Mark will be bringing a very fast Stingray EDF he has and flys at Jet meetings so that is very fast and I think he has plans to tune it up a bit more yet.

It would be good to have a few 200mph+ passes on a gun as well as the racing.

Just Hope I can get a pass for the weekend which has not been granted yet

This is a little over a week away now.
Need some more confirmations.

So far we have a variety of models coming including F5D, F5B, E2K, EDF and foamies. We also have someone claiming a 200mph model.

So it should be a good day.
