Question
When did the Tiger Moth become the Pico Moth?

Just curious, but has the Tiger Moth always been officially called the Pico Moth? Or did it get the name change when the TM400 and the TM 3D came out?

Or was there another moth that I'm missing?

The Tiger Moth is the Parkflyer. The Pico Tiger Moth is the indoor(calm weather) flyer.
Then for a short time, there was a Pico Tiger Moth with a aileron mod and a 350 motor.
Then there was the Pico Tiger Moth 3D, that also uses the 350, and the Pico fuselage, but has flat plate wings. I've had/have all of them. Butch

Butch - that's what I thought too, but when you go to the GWS site, you see there's the TM400, the Pico and the 3D.... no mention of the parkflyer version.

I guess if that was the case, what were the differences between the parkflyer version and the Pico?

Pico Tiger Moth is lighter and smaller than Tiger Moth 400. The stock motor of Pico one is an IPS geared down motor, TM400 comes with EPS400. Both these TMs are parkflyer version, while Pico one needs calm weather. Pico one could also be indoor flyer.

Chen,

Yes, I know that. I have a TM400, and my friend has the Pico Tiger Moth.

What I want to know is: is the Pico Tiger Moth the first Tiger Moth model made by GWS? Or was there another one?

Hi Squidbait,

Yes, Pico Tiger Moth flew earlier than TM400. Quite a few years ago, the first GWS pico electrical R/C bird was Pico Stick with wood stick fuselage, then J-3 Cub stick one, and Pico Stick with foam fuselage, Pico TM as well.
