Spec'ing in prop size

I am building my first quad from frame kit and would like to know how you figure out the best prop sizes to try out. I am using a Q450 frame with Turnigy Multistar 30 Amp Multi-rotor Brushless ESC and Turnigy Multistar 2814-700Kv 14Pole Multi-Rotor Outrunner motors.
Can anyone help? The quad will have fpv with osd equipment in it.
Actually help understanding how to spec in batteries would be great too :-D
