+1

I love the video editing music and pace. Awesome idea to throw in bits of the unboxing and making.

Cheers!

Started to build my Speedo...I decided to ditch the double pushrod and go with one and a joiner for the elevators. I lost 8 grams losing the old pushrod and the hardware. I am putting a z bend on the elevatorso no easy connector. I picked up 1 gram with the elevator connector. Not a great savings but anything less in the tail is a good thing.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to share some more footage of the new Speedo Pro.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqPWScTs8H4

These are the first few trim flights done at Powerlines in Boulder, Colorado. The wind was blowing 15-25 and we were very impressed with how well the model penetrated, even without ballast.

We just received another shipment with the addition of a Sharp looking Yellow and Blue color scheme.

Almost done assemblying the speedo...busy with other chores to get it done quickly. I set the cg at 75mm and needed 5.4 ounces of lead to ballance. I used some lead shot from some old shotgun shells I had, 3.5 ounces and glued it in the nose like Dylan. I used wood glue and not gorillia glue. I will have to put more lead in to final ballance it. I am glad I removed some of the tail weight save about .5 ounce of lead in the nose. Looks to be 23.4 ounces ready to fly, but will re-weigh when all done.

Hey Alex, The new blue and yellow scheme looks great! I almost wish I'd waited, but then I wouldn't already have been flying mine

Allrighty...plane done...weighs in at 22.9 ounces. With the lead shot all the way in the nose I didn't need as much weight. Now all I need is good wind on a day I don't work. That could take a bit, I will let you know how it goes. FRANK...want to take it with you next time you goto East Otto?

The blue and yellow one is much prettier. I just ordered one. Hopefully it flies as well as my (sadly, now wrecked) speedo 1.2.

I got my yellow/blue one from Skip Miller today. The plane looks good in person. The kit quality seems better than the old plane - the wing covering seems better done, the preinstalled servo trays are nice, the wing attachment seems sturdier (although probably more catastrophic in a crash).

What servos are people using in theirs? And what sort of tape for attaching the rudder?

Any reason not to put HS-55s in it?

Are those the servos that are in the plane flying in the video on your website? You compare them to Hyperion ds09s, which I've used and thought were great, but they're expensive. Someone else mentioned building this plane with hxt900s, which I've also used and thought were pretty awful (but they're cheap). If these are really as good as the hyperions, they'd be worth the price you're asking, but they're still twice as much as HS-55s.

If you insist they're as good as the Hyperion servos, I'll give it a shot and order four of them.

Do you have an idea of how much differential was being used there (looks like it needs a tiny bit of tweaking)?
