I love how there are three short threads on this little plane. I don't know which one to post in!

Anyhoo, I too will be curious to hear about some CG settings as I just ordered one of these little guys for the slope~.~ I'd been looking for a 1.2M something and this seemed a great deal at $61 shipped.

I just got mine - also with slight tribulations from revo-shop "I'm sorry that your parcel was returned to us due to the damaged parcel. After I checked it, we found that the main and tail wings of this speedo glider were damaged.
So, we are preparing the new main and tail wings to you now. However, the existed stock caught a problem by wet weather in Hong Kong.
" and then they were out of stock but it got here eventually and was very well packed.

This might be a dumb question but the one I can't find an answer to in any of the threads is how do you join the wing halves? Are people just glueing them together? Its not a big wing but I'm kind of reluctant to lose it's compact nature.

I've got a plan to fabricate some plastic joiner plates but before I do it would be interesting to hear of other people's solutions. There's no hardware in my kit that has anything to do with wing joining apart from the carbon (?) main tube.

If it's any help to others a four AAA 700 block battery will fit (just) and a 1/2 AAA 300 maH flat pack will also go in. I can get a 9g TP elevator servo in the cockpit area but I'm going to have to shorten the servo arm and put the "Z" bend at this end and maybe a snap connector at the back. I tossed the elevator control wire and sleeve and have used a longer sleeve and thinner wire of my own.

The only instruction included in the kit was a very poor photocopy of some pics which were virtually unreadable. Revolutionshop have sent me the original PDF which shows the elevator installation at both ends clearly but not much apart from that except they recommend a y lead for the ailerons. Having said that I have my TX programmed to provide spoilerons off separate aileron servo leads so I may not bother with the Y lead.

And what's the word on CG?

I've sent them an email asking for info on control throws, CofG and so on. I hope they respond.

It seems like they are spoiling a good plane with poor instructions. I don't know whether you are supposed to glue the wing together. I guess not as the film overlaps the roots. I also want to replace the metal screw with a plastic bolt for obvious reasons.......

They're normally pretty good at responding although it may take 24 hours. It's night there now!

A tip I'll bring across from already having built their "Fox" is to hot glue the aileron servos to the servo cover and then screw that to the wing, which saves having to chuff about making a servo mounting plates. Having said that a 9g servo is too thick* so unless the cover is spaced away from the wing I'm going to have to go looking for something slimline. Blue Arrow 4.8's will fit snug but I'm not a great admirer of their reliability.

Edit: *Wrong, the servo cover has a "power bulge" in it, so 9g servos will fit!

I recommend just putting the 2 halves together with the joiner and running a double layer of invisible tape around the join. Use a broad head nylon screw to hold the wing to the fuse.. cant remember where I got mine from, but should be commonly available. I'll measure my CG tonight and post it here, although it's a bit noseheavy at the moment.

Thanks ODF. I've had an email overnight here from Revo-shop who tell me the CG is at 55mm back from the le but I'll be interested to read what is working for you in real life. I fixed my wing mechanically at the rear but I think I'm going to go with your idea on tape - I have some white. I'll post pics later. Also got to find myself a plastic/nylon wing retaining screw. I have a stock of 3 mm but - no surprise here - the supplied steel screw is bigger, and a heavy little sucker - you could hang a house from it.

Finished the little bird. If the wind plays ball I'll give her a flight tomorrow.

TP 9g servo drives elevator but with z bend coming from beneath servo arm and with snap connector at the ele horn. Had to leave the elevator wire tube with some "float" (opened up the hole with a rat tail file) at the rear otherwise it was binding. Used a plastic plate to join the wings at the rear - doubles up as a load spreader for the wing retaining bolt but just used white tape at the front.

9g TP servos in the wings do fit if hot glued onto the servo covers.

Took quite a bit of lead in the nose to get the CG to 60. I have a choice of either 210 mAH 1/3 aaa flat pack - as used in my Alula - easy fit, and (tight fit) 2x2 700 maH aaa "block". I haven't checked the all up weight.

Photographed her with my Fox from the same source. Always thought that looked sleek but she looks a fat pig at the side of the little one. If the new one flies as well the Fox I'll be happy.

Astonishing value but such a pity that a load of details that would cost nothing to put right make life harder than it needs to be.

Maiden flight today - touch nose heavy but very nimble and, for its size, it holds speed well - too well in fact - big problem slowing on the landing approach and second landing cracked the fuselage in an obvious stress raiser. If you haven't built one yet I recommend epoxying a length of flat carbon strip under the lip each side of the wing seat of the fuselage.

I like it!
