Thanks Anton, Not bad for a rookie, huh ? I don't know how much it's been flown but it was in pretty rough shape by the time it got to me .

The winglets were thrashed so I bought new ones, and the re-cover was definately needed. There were tears in the bottom of the wing. I had to cut out a small ball of foam and put some epoxy at the end of one of the brass spar tubes because the foam had been crushed from pushing the spar in too far and caused a lump in the covering. The tape was pulling away from the nose. There was just an array of things.

I'm not badmouthing anyone but we definately need to look at it before it gets sent to the next person, especially if this little baddie has a few more miles ahead of it . I'll send the blue and gold tape with it for repairs, taping across the wing, closing the receiver cover, etc.

I hope to get pics and vid of her in the air soon.

Dave

Hydrogin - Thanks for the compliment on the plate.

Brian - SLO is actually short San Luis Obispo, but the plate is meant to have multiple meanings. The 2 you posted are just as accurate. Now you know all 3 .

The winglets I picked up are a bit larger than the ones that were with it, I picked up some Wing Warrior tips from the LHS. I finally found one that has stuff for planes.

I took pics of the top of the plane and totally spaced the bottom so here they are, along with some pics of the Dom in her sleeping bag.....sexy....

Dave, the recover looks great!! Big improvement over the condition it was in previously.

Shoot me an email when you get that video together and I'll see what I can do with it.

Just wanted to thanks Dave (SLO Soarer), for seeing and acting on the opportunity to be part of the Dominator tour, and for giving us a chance to be part of it as well. It felt great to fly a plane which was on a much longer and noble flight.

Dom Flight Team from SLO

Here are some pics of the guys from the SLO area that flew the Dom today. Had a blast meeting other people from the group and flying with them . Definately have to hit that slope more often.

I will get the vid to Steve (surfimp) to get it edited and posted. Are you ready for it Steve?

The Dom is looking very spiffy indeed! Very nice new duds on our world traveler. It's good to see that there has been lots of pilots getting a chance to fly her and sign the log book.

Leaving Los Osos

Well, the Dom will be leaving San Luis Obispo today and heading on it's way to Reed up in San Francisco. It's been a blast flying her and I'm still working on getting the video done so I can post it. I'm having some issues getting from the dvd and into adobe premier. Any suggestions ? Anyway, I hope that everyone else has a good time with her. Just a word on flight characteristics....She's a bit tail heavy and squirrely at times , but overall a blast to fly.

Hi
I'm new to the forum and this is my first post!
Just been following the details of the slope tour with interest.
I just had a thought, i'm visiting california from 1st June and leaving from San Francisco on 11th June back to England.I noticed Slopetrashuk has signed up as a pilot. Don't know if its too soon but I could give the Dom a lift back here to the UK if you wanted.Let me know if you need me or any more details.
Cheers
Karl
