I would never want to endanger the reputation of the flying area. Would it be ok to bring a Hobie Hawk, M60, and mini Gryphon. If the wind was going to be completely calm, I was considering bringing this. AUW 15gms

Gary
Gary,

The Hobie Hawk and the M60 are indigenous birds to Dave's!
I'm sure the Mini Gryphon will also do well.
I personally have a hard time telling the quiet and slow electrics from slopers.
It seems like it's the big, loud and fast electrics that attract the attention of local residents and motivate them to want to evict us.
In a day and age when our hobby is viewed as "dangerous" and "annoying", we are just trying to prolong our existence at places like Dave's Beach.

See you at The Beach

Matin
can bring goodies if you want them....

I'm planning on being there!
I watched the video tribute to Dave. I never got to meet him, but now I know a little about him.

Flying Dave's Beach

I didn't know Dave, but from what I've read in RC Groups he was obviously one of your well respected and dedicated "slopers". I did however have the opportunity to visit and fly at the beach bearing his name this past Saturday - 10/17/09. I was in San Diego with the Old Pueblo Miata Club from Tucson, AZ and couldn't pass up the chance to bring along my Dream Flight Alula and fly at this well known area. Unusually foggy with a lighter than normal breeze according to several of the local fliers I met, but being from the dry heat of the AZ desert all was good from me and the Alula. I don't remember their names, but a "Thank you." for the cordial welcome by the guys that were there. I'll attach some photos, wish you well on the up comming event and hope to be back some day soon.

Paul

Very gracious of you to pay your respects in the way you did.
Sorry I wasn't there to met you. Beautiful Alula!...Love the colors.
I for one have to apologize for not keeping the memorial stone clean.
I don't get a chance to show up as much as I used to.
I wish others would cover for me and uncover Dave when they are there!

Thanks Matin,

...for the reminder and Paul for the respect. We can all work on being more mindful of our blessings and how quickly things can change.

It's just a raffle, boys

....as opposed to a plane for sale. If there's no interest, I can always just post it in the For Sale thread.
