Dave Kellogg 4th Annual Memorial Fly-In Nov 8th 2009

"Dave Kellogg 4th Annual Memorial Fly-In Sunday Nov 8th 2009"

Another year has passed and it's time to gather around and remember our good friend Dave.

It will be the usual get together of friends and family at the beach named after him.

The Wind Gods have not graced us the past couple of years. But that's no reason to leave your slopers at home.

Food and beverages will be available and donations are welcome. As is customary, we will have memorial T-shirts available.
It will help if you tell us in advance how many you need and in what size. It will save you a few buck if you pre-order. Just PM me quitely!

Festivities will begin at Dave's Beach sometime late SUNDAY morning after we roll out of bed or walk back from church and as is always the case we hang out as long as we feel.

Oh, and if you are new to the area and don't know who Dave is, you can find out here:
Dave Kellogg, April 5,1948 - October 18, 2006

So don't forget the date and place:

Sunday
November 8th, 2009
Dave's Beach
Carlsbad, California

Matin
hopes we get pulled pork again.....

Count me in. The wind curse has been broken at Dave's

I'll take 2 large shirts, but not if they look like the Moth shirts.

I can bring a cooler of ice cold soft drinks for the event.

Ooooooh Dave...

This good nice man gave me all the insight I need to start out in the wonderful world of slope flying.
You should have see my first sloper a Zagi C5 and it was so poorly built Dave had a hard time trying to fly it so after a few flights and some well needed advice we got it flying nice and the rest is history….Look at me now?

Look Out…………Just joking.

In all I miss Dave.

Please count me in Matin for a large.

I will be there and with my little girl!

I have never been to Daves Beach, and thought I pose a few questions before the drive. Will I need to bring a floater this time of year ? Will most of the flying be foamies or moldies ? I am also wondering if the Ubercraft guy will bring some Ravens.

If past years are any indication, floaters will be too heavy. We were skunked last year. But we always have fun. Foam planes are a good idea at Dave's because of the rough landing area. You are on asphalt or decomposed granite and landing pretty much parallel to the slope. Matin will have to chime in, but he usually doesn't like to be seen as a salesman at any of these events. However, I'm suspect he could be talked into bringing some Ravens for delivery.
