Quannum 36-55 Powered Super Sportster EP!

I have decided to open a new thread for this Chinese bought Brushless Inrunner Motor known as the Quannum 36-55 Drive and I will use my Experimentational model that has flown for over 120 Flights using various Brushed motors.

I will of course provide real world data via measurements from my Astro Flight WATT Meter and propeller RPM Tach and of course provide flight performance and battery strain using this 1350Kv motor.

Here's some Data on the motor:

This will not be a comparision between the well known Kyosho ENDOPLASM 16-Turn and this new motor and instead the only comparision will be flight characteristics as I will install my GPS Receiver the Geko 201 by Garmin to see about airspeed, duration, etc.....

Thank you!

Oh, you did catch that .

That's cool. I am always wondering if the crazy prices paid for some of these bl motors/esc/lipo combos is really providing a proportional improvement in performance over the amazing Endo.

Yet another guapoman2000 thread subscribed to.

Glad to see you got yours. I actually did not get this motor but rather the brushless out runner - the Tower Pro 2908-10 and the 2915-5. I was looking for the latter to go in the Super Sportster.

I think the snag on my order was ESC which was not in stock, but I am still not impressed with the turn around time. I will also be disappointed if my order arives in a soft sack like the one you have above as it will contain other items besides a solid can motor.

Looking forward to the power up and motor maiden video - ie endo compairisons

Mike

PS, Dan - we ought to see if we can convience G.Bob to stock these motors. And speaking of Bob, a friend of mine will be maidening a 7lbs model tomorrow with the 3520-07 "Big Kahuna" and a tower pro 40 amp. (i put him on to bob for this). Will let you know how it flies.

Sweet! You'll be happy with the 2915-5D. It flies my 3lbs. 8oz. Cub like the BUSINESS!! This should've been the motor I put in my Sportster....live and learn. I will most likely get another Sportster...or try to make one good one from the two crashed one's that I have.

I'm starting to have a collection of motors and no planes to put them in!! I have a Goldberg Tiger 400 that I should probably revive....

Do you have a thread for that conversion? I have a Low Wing .40 size model I wanted to convert this winter. I would love to hear more about this motor!

Thats all well and good, but I dont see any meter reading aside from amp draw on a 10x5 prop. I would figure your thread will cover a couple different setup including real world data collected.

Best of Luck

I have many flights on mine now and so far it has worked better than I expected. I think you will like it. I have heard from others that have tried it and they like it too...

But more to the point, Carlos, you have experience with the geared endo, and this is the comparison the rest of us are sitting here waiting to read about with baited breath. JD can say he "likes it" but compared to what? I "like" the Endo performance, but they are a disappearing breed. What I want to know is will this motor outperform it?

On paper the Quannum looks like it may fit the bill. No mess no fuss - a non-geared drop in clam shell mount motor that replaces the Endo in the SSEP with little or no mods...that would be nice. But for me to spring for one, it has to outperform the Endo as the endo I am running in the EESP is farily new and could out last the Sportster.

I know you will give all the numbers, the good, the bad and the ugly -compared to the endo. So I wait ....

That is really 'black pearl' of motor as someone describes, are they called 'New' motor?
