Jim Marshall passes on

Where's all the axe men in LTUP? I'm surprised no one has mentioned this (that I've seen, that is). I don't play, never have, but I sure appreciate his contribution to music. Rock on, Jim.

The 'Father of Loud', he gave his name to the world-famous, ubiquitous amplifier

He was THE MAN. We have several of his creations around the house. Nothing like the glow of tubes. RIP.

Ah - Fenders and Yamaha's in this house, but Marshall stacks were a rock standard, indeed!

Well, at least he had a good innings, he went up to '11, and beyond.

RIP Mr Marshall.

I think it was he that came up with the concept of "11". Or maybe that was Townsend and he just built it.

RIP. What a good life (I assume) he had. Making a living and creating a legacy doing something he loved.
I will take out my Steinberger and plug in the Marshall in his honor!

Many (many many many) years back I was 'famous' amongst my mates for falling asleep at disco with my head resting against the speaker cabinet.

In my defense, I was a little tipsy

James Marshall.
James Marshall Hendrix.

Almost identical names. What a fantastic coincidence.
