950 Lithium-Ion Polymer Packs
Just noticed that Dan ( www.wildrc.com ) has marked down his 950 packs to $29 for a 2 cell pack and $35 for a 3 cell pack! I can use the 2 cell packs on my IPS planes in place of my surplus Lithiums. My question is this a good price for these packs and what could you use the 3 cell packs on???

Yes, the 2-cell packs are a good value at $29. They work great on any IPS power system and outperform the QualComm packs because they are lighter, have slightly better duration, and can deliver more current (almost twice).
The 3-cell packs could be used in special high geared applications where an additional 0.7oz doesn't hurt you. They are, however, in a not so usefull range of current delivery. If you parallel 2 of the 3-cell packs, now you can power a Speed 300 motor or a more specialized brushless motor like the Astro Flight 010.
For a Speed 300 motor, most folks are having great success with either a 2s2p pack of 1020mAh Kokams or a 2s1p pack of 2100mAh cells. These packs also cost less than 2 of the 3-cell packs from Wild RC.

I run Dan's 950 packs, 2 cells on IPS or hybrids, and 3 cells on geared 010. I paid the full original price about 9-10 months ago, after seeing him fly them on a 280-IFO I knew I had to have them. They were the only ones available back then. They're still running strong.
