Ok. The set up is a 3-4s brushless outrunner 950kv motor, the esc is from Giantcod.co.uk and a cheap SP 30amp esc [recommended],had a quite a few goes trying to programme the brake but i dont think i have been successful yet never done one before, does the prop stop rotating immediatly after pulling throttle to down positition, using a Spektrum Dx7 Tx.

Shimsham, the brake should have been enabled by factory default but if you follow the (clunky) instructions you should be able to alternate between enable & disable. The problem is recognising were it's at now since there's no confirmation signal returned.

IMO best method would be to familiarise yourself with the operation so that you can confidently change over at the field, then see if the prop folds in flight when the power's switched off. If it change it & try again.

You may find that it won't close in either case but a) the prop will freewheel or b) it will stop but not fully close.
In this event change the program to condition b) & make sure the prop is really floppy on it's pivot screw. A fraction of a turn on the screw can make a lot of difference but don't overdo it.

HTH

Pat.
