Hi

Just joined the forum as recently got my son a 9053 helicopter and can't get it to work.

Bought it a while ago and just got around to unpacking it. He got excited and broke the aerial on the controller, he broke the top 2 extension pieces off. Will it still work or should I get another (I see you can get them on ebay).

Bigger issue is that I cannot get the controller to turn on, that is when I turn the controller on the light above the switch does not light up. Batteries are new and good quality. How many batteries are meant to be in it to work, as it can fit 8 and the instructions says to fit both 6 and 8. But from closer inspection it seems that the "battery holder" is missing some contact points, picture below.

Can someone please let me know if it is ok or do I need to buy a new controller?

Thanks
Andrew

LoL this is what they could call a monday morning product...

jeezz sorry it had to happen to you, same happened to me on a brand new RC tank
opened it up, leds where wired wrong + smoke generator plug was inserted in flash

anyways... if your handy enough u could make the missing connectors urself
(i could do it for free i you lived close)

or alternative, make a battery pack (could use a lipo) the make sure the voltage equals the 8x AA 1.2 = 9.6v (so toys have 9.6v pack, maybe salvage?)

about the antenna, well close range would not be to big problem, say inside house
but outside could provide problems you want to avoid...

they can be pushed back in if you still got a the missing parts...
even if you didn't than u could solder them shut into the last part (extended)

hope this makes sense since English is not my native speech
