I have left it off on the last 4 or 5 that ive done, as long as you use epoxy cabosil mix so that the pod boom gap is filled.
I might put a little tow if boom only glued with ca.

The wrap is not necessary as I have an extra layer of woven carbon over the first approximately 50mm on the big end. I use 5 min epoxy to join mine and have not had any sign of problems.

Graham,
Thanks for the reply. I thought I detected some extra carbon there. Much neater than a wrap.

Some people groused about you going with the larger fuze, but Goldilocks would approve, it's just right

Still have to do the springs and hook up R+E, looks like it will be Tuesday before I get it in the air.

248 grams, cg with no nose weight right at 65mm.

I used ATX 94800 for R+E, DS285 for ailerons because I had them on hand. 650 round 1s and ATX RX-631 in shrink wrap.

Tomorrow looks like a good day to give it a toss

Should fly really great at that weight. Don't be afraid to experiment with camber.

I'm a happy man. After reading (with yearning) the triumphant reports of so many posters who had just received their Storms, I am able to join the owners club.

South African Post did a fine job in getting my kit to New Zealand in just 6 days, which compares well with any other country that I've dealt with. Graham's packaging is top class and protected the contents perfectly with the surprisingly small box failing to attract the attention of Customs thus saving me having to pay an additional 20% - all good.

I won't report on the contents, as that's been done many times in this thread, other than to say that the quality is superb. Now I have to get everything else that's pending out of the way so that I can start the build. This is where Mickey's manual comes to the fore.
