Should I use a Digital Servo with Tricopter

I posted this question on the other forum here on RCGroups.com...not many responses, I think it should have been posted here.

My question: I am building the tricopter found at RCExplorer.se and plan on basic flying around and hopefully then learn some fancy 3D stuff. I know Metal Gears are a "must"...Is the Digital Servo worth the extra $$ investment?

Recommendations, suggestions and comments are always appreciated!

I used a Futaba 9650 on the tail of my tri, and it works really well.

It's probably not worth using a digital servo unless your flight controller can update it at faster than the 50hz that analog servos are updated at. My 9650 is updated at 330hz by the OP CC3D board I'm using. I don't have any real experience with other FCs, so I can't tell you about update rates for various boards.

My tri is using a cheap PowerUp analog metal gear servo with a KK2 FC and it flies just fine.

High quality analog or digital servos, will be better than a low quality analog or digital servos.
be careful when making comparisons, and drawing conclusions.

my tri worked well with a single HS-225MG, Metal gear, analog, pretty good resolution, 31g. My MKS DS1009 servos
are way better -- metal gear, digital for 600-700 size helis, but there expensive and heavy, 62g.
