Mini Topsky Wing Pin
I'm building a Mini Topsky and am questioning the placement of the wing pin. The Topsky "Plan" shows the pin inserted vertically in the wing, parrallel to the rudder, but it seems to me that it would be more comfortable if it is perpendicular to the surface of the wing. How did you guys do it? I will be using Drela's pin design.

The "pin" you are speaking of is the throwing peg? Which you want to replace with Dr. D's blade???
And then you think you want the blade installed so it doesn't stick up like normal, but laid down so it has a low long profile with the wingtip??
I don't think you will be to happy with that. The slot in the wingtip would be so long that wraping extra material around the blade would be inneffective at spreading the launch loads inboard to the wing. In other words the wing tip would be too unsuported and would fail before your tenth launch.
Install it like the instructions show.
You do have some options since you are making/ shaping your own blade.... You may opt to shape your blade so that it is a bit wider front to back , and you can also control how tall you have it out of the wingtip.
I would suggest something like 1/2 x 1-1/2 inches (finished) as a comfortable size, any more than 1/2inch is going to limit the strength of the wrap reinforcement and really weaken the wingtip.

You can do it either way; parallel to the normal axis, or perpendicular to the wing. Most consider it personal preference, I mount mine as your instructions describe (parallel to the fin/rudder).
