Sorry to horn in on your announcement Ian.Sounds like fun, Ian wish I could be there.
In the meantime if anyone is looking for a great model for both ALES and F3J flying here is a posting of interest. The model could be at the big contest in February. If interested check with Matt Aurand or Dennis Clingan. to look at it http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2099305
Great flying, great people, great fun
Iain's ALES contest at the Elliot bowl today featurd a lot of good air, great flying by a bunch of good and fun pilots. I had a terrific time and look forward to the next contest on March 8th. Jerry stayed out of trees and Sean of Aero-Model schooled us all despite being badly jet lagged after just flying in from Germany. Way to go Sean! I have to thank Lee for all his timing help. And I had the pleasure of meeting and timing for Don Harban. I hope to fly with you again soon, Don! And congrats to the winners and for Aero-Model's generous donation of some nice swag.
Ed had that right - fantastic weather, great contest and fun crowd. Things got slightly out of hand when Jerry gave us tips on rolling up the tapes, so this is the first annual Jimmy Buffet "Big Roll'n Lift" Fly-in.
Good air most rounds kept the contest tight. Many times Radians made end-of-window along with the big birds. 4-points between 1st and 2nd, and 107-points between 3rd and 6th.
