After about 4 minutes I brought it in for a high alpha landing. A landing that didn't go well. Had it hanging on the wind perfectly and the gust quit with the model still about 3 feet up. It rolled over and splat on it's top. Busted the nacelle from the pylon. Took all of 5 minutes to repair and it's ready to go again.
It is nice to play with... or should I say against the wind.
Three things that took me by surprise:
1) Windspeed and so airspeed drops significantly below 1 meter altitude.
2) Airspeed drops in tight downwind turns.
3) There are funny turbulences behind treelines and buildings.
All three have caused damage to either planes and/or confidence. I learned my lessons the hard way,
Again it is still great fun and challenging to fly in high winds!
