If you're in Georgia also check out Lake Acworth. Haven't seen gas motors but I'm usually there. Would love to attend your first Float fly.
Nice flying! Come on down on June 27th

It rolled over and splat on it's top. Busted the nacelle from the pylon. Took all of 5 minutes to repair and it's ready to go again.

It is nice to play with... or should I say against the wind.

Three things that took me by surprise:
1) Windspeed and so airspeed drops significantly below 1 meter altitude.
2) Airspeed drops in tight downwind turns.
3) There are funny turbulences behind treelines and buildings.

All three have caused damage to either planes and/or confidence. I learned my lessons the hard way,

Again it is still great fun and challenging to fly in high winds!
upwind, downwind (4 min 21 sec)
