oversized profile F-14
At my field we all tend to build these F-14s to dogfight. They are cheap, fast, nimble, and fun.
Last week, while waiting for my wife to get home from work, I got a wild hair and decided to scale one upÖ. WAY UP! It was a pretty big hit at the field. And was good for a lot of laughs!
by the way, I'm 5'8" tall.
First flight didn't go to well. The CG was way off, and I parked it about 20+ feet out in the pond. That was a cold walk knee deep out in the pond to go get it.
After we dried out all the electronics, we put it back up, I quickly realized I had my elivons reversed, and even though we added weight to the nose it was still tail heavy. I managed to somehow get it down safe, and we fixed the problems. 3rd time is a charm! We threw it again and finally she flew. It was WAY under powered, and slow to respond. It can't go fast, but it can go really friggen slow!
It still needs a bit more nose weight, and a bigger motor. But itís a hoot to fly. Already guys at the field are talking about building a few to dogfight. lol
Iíll upload some flight videos later. I like big airplanes!

here's the video of the third and fourth flights. We are a salty bunch, but I think I edited out all the foul language.lol
like I said, it's slow, real slow. But as it's been said, it's a heck of a park flyer.
I love the landing on the 1st flight. oh and when I get excited, I laugh like an idiot!
