I hit the credit card last weekend... from HK: twoTurnigy Nano-tech 3000mAh 4S 24C-50C lipos and various sizes of Turnigy ultra-light wood props and from HW/Falconsekido a Platinum 80A ESC (nice price). I've gone through 3 ESCs (1 burnout, 2 in water) this season and am tired of paying Castle prices. Also a new fuselage from Horizon since this one is looking pretty beat up after two major crashes. If it makes it to the end of the season in one piece I'll rebuild it over the winter.

Was a bit tricky to trim after the last major nose repair and hard to tell the result in the 15-20mph gusts we had. It was also the first time out with the HS-82MGs on the ailerons and it seemed to have a problem centering. I suspect I may have over tightened the aileron hinges, or possibly glued one or more of the hinge points out of alignment causing some binding. The servos buzz and I don't think they should.

I have the same problem on one of my wings, I reglued the aileron hinge tabs and now there is binding, the 5085 won't center perfect on it. I tried 2 different servos and same problem. The hobbywing esc is working great in the yak so far, I will be sticking to these esc's from here on out, great quality at a great price!

i have a few Master Airscrew 12x6 electric, waiting for be needed.

So a APC 12x6 would work?

Yes. That's what I use. Just make sure you balance it.

Most popular props (I'm guessing) would be apc 12x6 (more speed) and the apc 13x4 for more torque.

I also got an APC 13x4 but have not try it yet because i read here will draw too much amps... can I used with stock setup ?

Some of my buddies run the 13x4 all stock and have had no problems, throttle management is a good idea with this prop, hold full throttle for less than 10 seconds and you should be good. Not sure how many amps it pulls but I don't think it would pull more than 75 amps.

some 1 post was 72-76amps nut sure but was close to that. that is the reason i didnt try it the esc is 60a

All props are APC thin electrics. Static thrust measured with a fishing scale.

The plane balances without any extra weight, battery at the rear of the compartment. The missing pilot seems to counterbalance the slightly heavier motor.

A 13x4 draws less amps than a 12x6. No worries. You'll definitely lose some speed and make much more noise.

Alucard did some testing on stock yak and results were 1025 watts @ 74 amps for apc 12x6, 975 watts @ 68 amps on 13x4 (posted on page 204).

So for all around flying a 13x4 would prob be better? I dont want or need this thing to be a rocket ship. I would rather it have more power to get out of stuff then have it go 90mph.

If you like high speed aerobatics the 12x6 is great. If you like harriers, hovering and such the 13x4 is the better choice. They are both good for all around flying except the 13x4 is slower and will slow dives down better, more climbing power too.

Since my bad vision i enjoy more the harrier arround and slow fly so this weekend i will put on the 13x4 and give a try.
