Trex with HS-65 question:

I'm in the process of building my Trex 450S, I'm using HS-65's for the swash with the standard servo arms. In order to get the arms geometry correct I had to use the 2nd hole on the servo arm. It still looks like I have plenty of throw on the swash but I still couldn't help but wonder what hole everyone is using with their HS-65's?

cheers,
Ray

using the second hole from the inside on the single long arm whcih gives way more than enough travel and your correct the symmetry is perfect here.

Thanks, so I should be good to go then.. I was worried a bit since on my other machines I was usually at the outer holes to get the same geometry.

You'd want optimum throw not maximum throw for cyclic. More is not always better for cyclic angles. You want to confine you pitch interaction to within 6-8 deg. Too much and the rotor could stall under certain maneuvers.

That brings up a good point Gino..

I always set for physical max throw but I never program more then 70% in my swash movement (usually it's more like 65). It also helps that as of late I prefer to have a max pitch of -9<->+9 but most of my setups can go -12<->+12, easy setups.. That doesn't mean that when your doing a new build though that you can put the pitch gauge away and just skip checking the interaction.
