Scaling Up the Graupner Heinkel HE-111

Hello All,

This topic will be about my attempt to make the Graupner HE-111 into a more Scale looking warbird. It will take a few years at best, but then the Heinkel will hopefully be a whopping looker !

[IMG[http://www.graupner.de/filerootdir/downloads/20091209015947_9594_HE_111__006.jpg[/IMG]

The wingspan of this bird is 1750mm. when I put it on its wing it is taller than me.

What will be done with it :

Scale cockpit
6 Scale machine guns
Scale crew
Working Bomb Bay and Bombs
Working Electric retracts, scale looking
All windows which are painted on the foil will be cut open and glazed
Electric motors, Counter Rotating, Three blade props
A more scale fuselage skin (panelling etc.) Might use alufoil tape dunno yet,.

Here a few comparison shots with 1:18 aircrew. Some people said 1:16 could be better, will see about that, not convinced.

These will be modified to MG-15's by cutting off the buttstock.

Feel free to subscribe.

I might have found a solution for scale props, but that is just a guess at the moment.

Tested a nacelle with the Parkzone Bf-109 prop. Looked ok.

However, Graupner states that the motor should be between 400/480.

If any such motor exists with the shaft thickness for the Pz Prop I dont know.
Migt even test a larger motor at some stage. But that is a long time away for now.

Wing area HE-111 = 48dm sq.

Graupner advises a GRAUPNER ELEKTRO PROP 11"x5" prop for their motor..

Stock Park-Zone bf 109 3-BLADE prop = 10.6" x 6.8 x 3, 39 A, 58 mph, 9011 rpm

Here are some images :

Your ideas for producing a very scale HE-111 are inspiring!
I've found a Graupner HE-111 new in the box and am seriously considering it so I'm watching your build with real interest. I'll let you know if I buy it.

Hey, any news on the Heinkel? I've had one in the box for quite some time now and am thinking it's time to get started.

Well I got sidetracked by the Durafly Fieseler Storch.

Check my build log.

I did however order 6 1:12 MG-15's for the He-111.

No, Richard Delorme makes the guns 3D printed.

If you mean my Storch, here is the link to the build log :
