I tried to search but no luck.
what mode is popular or commonly used in the Philippines? mode 1 or 2?
I am new into RC flying and learning the basics on my simulation which happen to be in mode 1.
I been playing my cheapo heli which is mode 2 so I am kind of confused.
thanks for your quick help,

Mode 2 is generally more popular worldwide. However, it doesn't really matter as this is a personal preference.

Thanks a lot Sir,
As a newbie, just want to make sure I get myself familiar with the mode that most are using and also the right transmitter once I invest in a better model.

If you've flown helicopters in games. Use mode 2. The right stick is the cyclic (i.e. mouse), left stick is are throttle and rudder (i.e. wasd)

Got a new FC set. Rumored to be the Naza v2 killer. The assistant software suspiciously looks like that of the Wookong. Will see how it performs.

Maidened the Tarot ZYX-M on my 500mm spider style quad. I must say it felt unreal on GPS mode. Unreal because it didn't feel like flying a quad at all. It was like playing a video game. I move the stick left, it moved left. I stop moving the stick, it stops moving. It was fun for about 5 minutes. It was rock steady in the air, though even in strong wind.

Atti mode was the same but with a little drift countering a bit fighting the wind.

Manual mode was surpising. Authority on all axes. The rates were very high and the quad responds even with tiny twitches on the stick. I may need to make adjustments on my radio to fly manual.

Sulit @ US$125. Performs as advertised. The point of interest function is pretty cool too.

Now I just need to figure out how to tune an Alexmos controlled gimbal. I have a problem where the roll twitches every second when even 0.01 "I" is applied. Any ides?

EDIT: Added pic

I need your advice again guys.

I've taken the above quad to an AUW of about 1.5Kgs and I'm getting poor flight times (5 mins) with the 980kv/1045 props on 4400mah 3S2P. I think it's time for an upgrade on motors.

The SS 2216-800kv and SS 2216-650kv are about the same price. Which would give me longer flight times if I planned to continue using 3S with an AUW of 1.5 - 1.8 Kgs?
BTW, I plan to stick with the 500mm TBS Discovery imitation frame. Prop recommendations are welcome too.

Thanks!

Taga saan ka ba? Meron dalawang sikat na lugar sa maynila. Merong apat na sites sa mga taga binan.

Newbie

Happy new year!

Very new to R/C flying pero na-addict na ako.
Started with those cheap toy 2.5 channel helicopters. Then recently got the Air Hogs Millenium Falcon which introduced me to quadcopters.
Last Christmas naka-receive yung anak ko ng malaking toy quadcopter. Would like to upgrade to a DIY quad with FPV. May local hobby shop ba na may parts? Based in Metro Manila.

Salamat sa lahat. Ang galing ng community.

If you're on the west side of manila, meron sa Hobbies of Asia (Willy's RC). If you're near megamall, meron sa likod ng Robinsons (Lowdogs). Nagbebenta sila ng kits, so solder mo na lang.
