Identify This 2 Mtr Powered Glider

Hi There,

I always wanted a glider/sail plane and picked this up on the weekend and am looking to restore it.

Does anyone recognize the model?
I'm not an expert here but that electric motor looks old school and it looks like it was a kit.

I posted the same question in the Aussie Forums and a member suggested it was a "Quiet Advancer" by Price-rite engineering.

One of the wings has a few ribs damaged so I need to make new ones.
Plus the fin is missing. So what I am looking for is plans.

Also wanting to convert this to more modern electrics.
Can someone also suggest a motor, ESC and battery combo.
I have limited experience with electric.
Many thanks

That looks like the classic Gentle Lady that has been electrified.

Not a gentle lady. At least that wing is not a gentle lady wing. With the flat center panels and c beam spar it looks like an Oly 650.

A quick search in google images seems to confirm that it is a "Quiet Advancer".
Dunno if it pre-dates or post-dates the Gentle Lady but it does look similar though the main spar seems a better design.

Yes I saw that video. I downloaded the plans for the Gentle lady and the measurements at the base of the fin match the hole left by the missing fin on the Quiet Advancer. It also looks roughly the same height relative to the Tail. So I'm going to use that. The ribs aren't too bad only the top sections of a rib or two are broken off so so I will make them by eye.

I've got to now figure out what type of Brushless setup to replace this old motor with. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My electric/RC skills are limited to chaotic flights around the park with a Nutball

Cheers and Thanks

Hello;

This is what I am going to use in my Sig Riser 2 Meter for a motor.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ess_Motor.html
And for the ESC.

I also picked up a programming card for I could set my brake in the esc.

I ask ppl here, on the prop size and they suggested a 10x4 or maybe a 10x6 folding prop.
This is the spinner I had gotten from another company here close to me in the States.

My Great Planes Electric Spectra 2 Meter uses a Turnigy 2200 3S 30C Lipo. But for the Riser I think I am going to use a Turnigy 1300 3S 30C lipo in it.

OK thanks for the list and tips.
I should have something similar in my parts bin.
