Today I managed to finally swing by Hanson Hobbies and I have to agree with the other posters. If you're looking for a broad selection of hobbies (including Warhammer!) and some really hard to find items, this is the place.

Also updated the list with all suggested shops to date.

And I found myself out that way earlier than expected. Had some time today and drove out to Hog Heaven. What a great shop! Really nice owner and shop is much, much larger than the image on the website would lead one to believe.

It took a lot of will power to only pick up some parts and not walk out with a Top Flite .60 size ARF they had on sale. Sooooo tempting.

anyone know if any of the CT stores sell the Turnigy 9x or something comparable? hobbyking is ok but man, the shipping times stink! 3 weeks to get my radio and it came in broke. i suspect that customs, all the loading / unloading, and extra handeling involved with international shipments was too much for it to take...lol one of the small chrome switches came off and was rolling around in pieces in the box when I got it. now its going back, on MY dime, then ill have to wait for them to check it out before they issue me another... Bleeecchh by the time i get a radio, it will be christmas!!

Hanson Hobby is still open? I'm going to have to stop in and check them out. New to RC, but I'm very familiar with HH as it's right next to where the band rehearsal studio I worked and played at for many many years was located. I always used it as a landmark when trying to give someone directions to get there (in the pre-gps olden days).
