Recomend me a fan for my meteor

I have melted the stock motor and then had a velocity fan blow up. Both were fine on 5s but when I put 6s in it I have problems. Looking for the most powerful motor/fan that could run on 5s and 6s For $100 or less. I'm running a hw100a in it so shouldn't have a problem there.

If your wanting to run 6s, I'd suggest a HET 6904 or Wemotec Minifan pro EDF.
but your looking at 100+ amps for 6s setups. I'd use a Castle ICE 100 ESC

For 6s motors I have the......

Velocity 2900kv (4mm shaft)
http://www.effluxrc.com/Velocity-Hig...28-60-2900.htm

Mega 16/40/1 3150 kv (3.17 or 4mm shaft)
http://www.effluxrc.com/MEGA-16-40-1...6-40-1-4MM.htm

HET 1W-40 3300kv (4mm shaft)
http://www.effluxrc.com/HET-1W-40-Motor-HET1W40.htm

Sorry it's not $100 or less for a complete setup. These are all quality products. No junk.

Gary,

That airframe is also just 65mm. He may be looking for the 65mm Velocity or HET.

Thanks for the replys, I don't wanna go over 100 amps as I'm limited on battery size. I've been running 5s and 6s 3300 mah 30 packs. I was getting 4 min. with a mix of full throttle and 3/4 throttle flying. 3 min. full throttle flights. I have 6s 5300 but I just don't think I can get them far enough back to balance or even come close. As far as castle In the edf world they may be fine but I come from a heli background and once you have one go up and take out 2000 in heli it will leave a bad taste in your mouth for a life time.

I have had good results using the Ammo 28-35-3900 in the 65mm Wattage fan, nothing earth shaking, but 18oz. static at 265 watts on 3S. The motor is available from Tower Hobbies. The MPJet small prop adapter (3.2 mm shaft M5 hole in fan) converts the Wattage fan to the 3.2mm notor shaft.

The easiest way to install a large battery up front and get it to balance is to install a really big motor in the back! Get a hold of a JS1400 outrunner on the extention, it will move some weight to the rear, take 5s and go like stink. Only thing is about 115 amps. A couple fellows have a 6904/JS1400 on 4000 65c 5s packs. They land like a feather too!

Ah ok, I get it now. Funny though because on the some of the motor threads they focus on getting the fan and motor close together as to help with rotating mass... I do like the idea of shifting weight back with the use of motor extension.
