The web site seems to be down. It's on the AMA calendar for Nov 2-4. I sent them an email but no reply yet.

I was thinking about going this year. I don't think I will be able to though. Oh well, maybe next year.

This is one of the best indoor events. I have worked helping set up for the last 4 (?) years and you see so many different kinds of planes.

The dome is very big, lots of room, we build a lake to float fly from.

Yes the website is down. I plan on going this year. I hope to have all the boats serviced before the start.

It is always a fun time.

Cone, are there many vedors SELLING planes/kits? I think this would be a good opportunity to get a decent foam flyer for myself if so.

There are usually 6-8 vendors selling foam planes. At least that many. LazerToyz, Luke's RC Planes, Model Aero, Dynamic Fomies, and some others that I can't remember right now. You also will have Air Hobbies, 2DogRC and of course Radical RC and I believe Rabid Models will be there also.

Lots of different foam kit producers.

It is only a hop, skip and jump from Dayton. About 40 minutes across I-70. It is on the East side of Columbus. Great place.

I drove up there last year. Between Cincinnati and Columbus is a deer graveyard. Don't drive through there at night.

That is what happens when the DNR doesn't manage the deer herd well. There are more deer in Ohio than ever before. The DNR needs to allow people to harvest as many as possible for a couple of years to thin the deer herd out.

You can't drive 72 mph at night in I-71. You are so correct.

The JR Indoor is worth the drive. We have people come from as far away as NC, GA, WI and many other states. We get people from New York City, Conn, and many others.

It's even more frightening around here on the small roads. Sometimes you'll catch them on the side of the road and you never know if they'll jump out in front of you. More than once I've run up on them standing in the road frozen by the headlights. The deer harvest need to be increased and deer season extended. Their "protected" status has allowed their numbers to increase dramatically. As Conehead said, there are more deer in Ohio now than ever recorded.

While this is OT, off topic, remember, one of the things they teach us in Michigan. Don't swerve for deer. Could be much worse.

One thing we know here is this. If you see one, there WILL be more, usually 3 sometimes more.

Driving to any event anymore has become a challenge. Sometimes it is like a NASCAR race at Bristol Tennessee and so I hope everyone who comes to the JR Indoor, has a safe drive, no problems.

This is a very nice event. Terry runs a fun event. The credit goes to all his helpers and to Bernie who does the announcing and Terry's support staff.

If you get a plane stuck in the net that protects the Golf Dome, the plane recovery team is the BEST. They get them down, many times without any damage.
