Gyrosphere spherical robot

Just stumbled across this in an effort to see if anyone else was working on an idea I had. As usually happens, someone is, and is farther along than I am with it!

So, Greg Schroll's Gyrosphere!
Robot for navigating dangerous terrain (4 min 35 sec)

I would love to learn how to figure cool stuff like this out, holy !

Someone's even further along than Greg. The Sphero "robotic ball" has been available since December of 2011. I know, this is a late reply - but I stumbled on it while looking for a place to post a review. I hope to get that up later today.
