Durafly 1100mm Spitfire MK1a Owners Thread

Ok Guys and gals.

I decided to launch a new thread for those who have purchased or intend to purchase this latest offering from Durafly. The model was released in Mid December 2015. Though limited quantities hit the worldwide warehouse at this time, more should be on their way according to Stuart.

I will be here to answer any technical questions on the model. I'm sure Stuart will chime in once in a while to take care of purchasing problems.

Let's start by posting a few static pictures I took on one of our flying sessions before the release of the model. I still own EB-G, AZ-D is at the NY office.

I also own a very early production "albino" model which I may make into a Mk2a. (really is just a paint change). I will however be adding oleo struts and a scale size horizontal tail (and maybe a pitch gyro if I chicken out!)

Hey Tom,

I think it would be ideal to list the dimensions, CG, prop, motor, esc sizes, etc. for this beautiful Spitfire Mk 1a.

Good idea this thread. Tom, you might want to reserve about 10 posts or the 1st page for certain "sticky" type topics, items that are important, and should be easy to find things. Just delete any 1st page posts (including mine) until you've posted "Reserved" upcoming posts, mods, etc, or something to that effect. Just an idea.

Having been stung big time with us postage I'd rather order from the uk
Last order from the states =product 6 dollars postage 50 dollars
Beside you only need to have the letters a-z twice on a sheet

You've obviously never used her that is not the case at all. The decals for my P-40 cost $29.00 ( less than 20) and In had them in under 10 days.

Erm, and the serial numbers, and not all squadrons used the same size fuselage roundels. And the "Jack here" markings in white for those schemes with black/ white undersides. Have a look at the huge choice of markings for Early Spits . It'd be one big-ass sheet to cover them all!!!
Sounds good in theory, but when you get into it.....aftermarket decal sheets for plastic kits are excellent for stuff like this. The hard bit has been done already, just enjoy the fruits of their research . And I don't recall the postage to the UK from Callie for my P40 Markings being excessive; just the opposite. They really are very good, too. Give it a go, you'll not be disappointed.
