I recently had all 5 of my 130 mAh 25c lipos die
but after years of abuse it was to be expected. The only other batteries I had laying were nanotech 2s 260mAh 35-70c, so I got to work and split one in half. Then I didnt want a big ugly battery on the outside of my plane, so I worked out a way to get it inside. This also greatly improved my CG, it seems to be bang on the money at the moment. In the pics you can also see my servo gear protector so the wires cant jam up the servos. These batteries are awesome, I have close to unlimited vertical now and I can hand launch it like a rocket (straight up), even with the additional weight of my lights, remote switch and the battery its self. Also I covered over where the old battery position was. With winter at our doorstep I think this will also help to keep the lipo warm, meaning longer wintery flights. Getting the battery in there is as easy as opening the hatch, placing the battery in its position, then loop the rubber band around your index finger, stretch, and press down between the 2 toothpick ends allowing the rubber band to snap into its place. Finally plug it in and youre good to fly. |
