best rx

A friend has kindly donated a Sanwa rd6000 super tx to me but there's no reciever.I wondered if any of you have one of these and could suggest a receiver that will give the best possible range since I may try it for fpv use. Thanks

I had to look that one up as I have never used Sanwa before -- Sanwa RD6000 Super 35mhz

The matching Sanwa Rx would be the obvious choice, plus use the Sanwa xtals to ensure compatibility.

That said, probably just about any 35Mhz rx will probably work, but perhaps stay away from the 'micro' sized ones unless the specifically state full range use.

Thanks for your reply. I see that Corona do recievers for all makes , some of which do away with the need of xtals and they are miles cheaper than the originals .I don't know anyone that uses them and whether or not they have as good range-any ideas?

You would probably be better to ask in the -- Radios forum -- but mention you are on 35mHz, as many on these forums will be on 72mHz, and that could make a difference.

There are a few threads in there on the synthesized Corona Rx.

For what it's worth, I had 'Corona' RX's on all my models before going to 2.4ghz. Never had a problem with them, I had both types and synth RX's worked fine too. Shame I sold the lot, or I would hapily have sent you one to try out.

Thanks anyway that's confused me even further now though
I'm very tempted , especially with their prices but I've read that the frsky modules that convert the 35mhz to 2.4ghz can give long range with a directional antenna fitted.
does the Corona give warning of any sort as to when it's nearing dropping out of range like servo glitches or does it just suddenly go?
Have you any idea as to what range I could get on a good day with the Corona?Cheers!

Imagine a 1.2M wingspan model flying off towards the horizon.
At the point where you can no longer determine which way it's heading, or whether it's even the right way up, that's about as far as it gets. For FPV, I think the UK regulation is the need to maintain line of sight between model & controller, not sure if that means knowing which way it's headed or what !
The other thing really, is the new 2.4ghz system 'boasts' in many cases the interference-free bind between TX & RX. There are a number of variables if working 35mhz, interference probably being top of the list. Hope this helps, FPV is an interesting concept but range is something that has many variables which could 'spanner' your ultimate goal.
