Eric Wierman's 2010 Southern California Spring Invitational - F5B Competition
(some recent history below - sent out to the usual cast of comp pilots in early March - hope you enjoy)
ATTENTION SPECIAL GUEST - YOU ARE INVITED
Date: March 21, 2010
Location: San Diego, California
Time: 12:12 pm
Lunch: included at no extra charge
F5B Invitational Rules:
-AMA license required.
-FAI F5B rules, modified/simplified;
--Run what you brung,
--Distance task: FAI rules
--Duration task: Not scored
--Landing task: Modified FAI rules for 5, 10 and 15 meter landing circles (30, 20, 10 points).
--after each flight, pilots scores will be posted on the Official Clip Board, located at the Base A Judge's stand.
--Competitor's best three flights of the day are totaled for pilot's combined score, ratified by Chuck Grim.
--First through Fourth place pilots will be awarded with the prestigious, highly coveted, often imitated- but never duplicated, priceless and unobtainable anywhere else in the Galaxy, not just any medal, but the "Eric Wierman's 2010 Southern California Spring Invitational - F5B Competition".
--Medal Ceremony to be conducted on or about 3:33 pm, presented by the "Trophy Girl" (Wierman Enterprises is currently screening candidates)
-- Medal winners agree not to sell, barter, auction, or exchange said medals, if won.
-As an added bonus, each pilot will do one extra "Freestyle" flight;
--Anything goes. One exception; no pit over flight.
--Scoring is 1 to 10 points, 10 being best.
--Scores are subjective, scored by peer pilots and willing others.
--Best total score wins the "Freestyle Award"

I'm playing catch up here, but will try to post something chronologically.
Been busy the last few weeks, mostly work; but with the occassional, "Offsite Team Building Workshops" - that's what the tax guy calls it anyway.
So yes, to clarify, this event is history.

Eric, save some burnt controllers, you can give those as consolation prizes to the pilots who burn their planes in the line of duty...
