From all accounts it's a great flier. I have 2 on the building board right now, one for a 90mm fan and one for a 50mm fan.

Hi Frenche,
Cool, are those off of this plan as well? I can't seem to find the source, probably a UK magazine from the early 90's.

Cheers,
H.

Yup both off that plan, just either blown up or shrunk. I can't remember which magazine but if you search the scratch built forum for my thread on the 90mm one I think someone posted scans of the build article

Thnx!
I think it will be a nice startingpoint for a 110% scaled version with scale-like inlets for a 5s CS70-10.
Any progress on your 90mm?

Cheers,
H.

FWIW,
Looks like you guys are building the Attacker design from Flying Scale Models.

Thomanie, yup that's the one

Hommel, yeah def upsize it a little bit, 110% sounds good. Remember back then this thing was designed we were still using brushed motors and nicads so it was pretty much stuff the biggest fan in the smallest, lightest airframe and load up the bungee. Now with brushless motors and lipo batts we have a lot more power for a lot less weight. Unfortunately progress on my 90mm has kinda stalled, right now I'm focusing more on smaller jets, hence the 50mm one on the building board.

I just love classic British jets and hope to one point have a Bucc, Attacker, Lightning, Sea Vixen, Venom, Hunter, Vulcan (now THERE'S a project!), plus a few more. I already have the Lander 70mm Hunter, 50mm Hawk (ok not classic but cool), 70mm Gnat (old OLD Robbe kit) and the two Attackers in progress.

Exactly my thoughts, as with most RBC kits designed for brushed/nicad, weight goes down and power quadruples...

I have a soft spot too for the unusual-but-interesting planes of the past

Funny you mentioned it, but I have a Robbe Gnat kit I keep on holding to, I know it was a great flyer on a 200W brushed set up.

Cheers,
H.

Hi Hommel,

Nice project, love the late 40's early 50's jets.

Hi Eric,

Yup, so many things I want to do...
First the Yak23, followed by some unfinished Luft46 projects. After these this would be a nice one indeed. Not to many tail dragging jets out there.
Scaling things up to approx. 115cm wingspan allows for near-scale inlets.

Cheers,
H.
