+1 DJ and it's easy with this video, don't know where the vid is.

This is one of the videos -

How to REVERSE a Servo. (4 min 32 sec)

The other video, the servo had all orange wires and I'd suggested marking one motor and one pot wire so that a wire didn't get soldered back where it came from if you looked away while doing the job and got left and right wires mixed.

Thank for this I couldn't find it for him (too lazy to look for it?)

There are at least 3 videos showing how to reverse a servo. I can't find the link to the servo with all orange wires.

Here is the link to reversing an HXT500 servo. I'd expect the HXT900 to be the same -

I must have missed the bit about a signal reverser needed. I searched two of the larger suppliers here in the US and didn't turn up anything. HK lists it, but its backordered. I guess I was doomed to cut the pocket in anyway.

Thanks for the info though. Learned something new today.

Hi,

I tried to maiden my SS yesterday. No go. I had tested the controls at home 5 days earlier. When I had connected the battery then, it beeped and then worked fine. There was a little bit of servo hum for a few moments but then it stopped. The controls just worked.

When I got out to the field and plugged in the battery it beeped 3 times and beeped some more. The place was quiet for a few moments and then seemed to be controlled by something else. The rudder moved back and forth and the throttle would start and stop. It seemed that I could control the plane as well, but it was hard to be sure, since it seemed to have a mind of its own.

I tried first in one field. There was a RC car race track 300 Meters away. I though that might be the issue so I drove about 2-3 Km away from them. This is an agricultural field at the edge of town and I could not see or hear and RC airplanes. After a while I gave up and took the plane home. At home the plane was also "haunted".

I did hand toss the plane to see how it acted. There was not much wind and it took a nose dive. My "removable tail-feathers" mod broke and I need to re-do it better. The hatch popped off so I learned that I need some velcro to hold it on (I expect some hard landings at first).

Any suggestion what I have to learn about to get a good radio connection with the plane? I have a FlySky X-UAV 4 channel Tx (FS-T4B)

The 3 beeps are a cell count...but it's not arming the motor.
Did you set throttle trims all the way down...like into the negative numbers?

I looked for a manual for this esc and could not find one....did they give you a paper with it? I noticed they say...

"Power arming protection (prevents the motor from accidentally running when switched ON) "

and wonder exactly what they mean by that,

Ernie.

mudcow007, is there a switch on the Tx (left hand side top) which switches off the motor? Used as a safety switch.

You don't say (or I haven't noticed it) what Tx you have. I'm usually flying the Bixler with a HK T6AV2 and use the switch often and often forget and wonder why the motor doesn't start - but then I'm greyer than you....

There is a "Throttle cut" switch/feature on it according to the website. Is that on or off?

That video (with the orange wires) is Below.

im using this manual, but cant find "Power arming protection" mentioned anywhere. am i using the correct manual!?!??

When i power on the esc the 3 beeps shown on the video only sound once, when i power on the rx (1st socket in a OrangeRX 7chnl RX).

After the initial 3 beeps if i move the throttle to full an leave it there, nothing happens.

if i trim the throttle down, its exactly the same (3 beeps with no response)

if i reverse the throttle, with the throttle in the down position, the esc enters programming mode

any ideas?

i really appreciate your help!!
