I don't need to start the most threads, I just started the one that matters most

Reminder: When flying, wear your AMA License in the open

Just a reminder that we have had a lot of people not wearing their AMA Licenses while flying at the field. There will be a similar notice in this months newsletter.

Please remember that we adopted the "wearing of the badges" policy to avoid having to keep a 2.4Ghz board similar to the 72Mhz frequency tag board we use for those flight operations.

Without adherence and compliance the board will have to take other measures and act in a different way to ensure that everyone flying is a dues paying member or someone who pays the daily use fee to use our fantastic facility.

Thanks!
Gary

It didn't work too well, in theory, the idea was for the member to place their card in the slot (similar to the 72 board) when flying - at a glance you could tell who are members, guests or not.

In practice people forgot cards, forgot to bring back the "pin" card from flying etc.

And since there wasn't a need for preventing "turning on" the same frequency - the idea of wearing badges was formed.

Badges are better. I leave mine in my hobby box that I take every day I fly. I left my ama card at the field and lost it from putting it on a board. Just my 2cents worth

I have my badge in a pin-on protector that I had left over from one of the event nametags. I tape the sides up to keep my card from falling out. I leave it in my flight box when not at the field, and pin it to the back of hat when I am. Works well, and can be seen from the pits when I'm on the flight line.

I scan and sell copies of mine.
Actually, I misplaced mine once and the AMA send me a soft copy to print out.
Since then I make a few so I have one in my box, wallet, truck and car.
