In general I think it's awesome...

- Z-foam
- DSM2 2.4ghz
- Brushless w/ Lipo
- Tricycle
- seperate ESC and RX

Basically it addresses everything I did not like about the Supercub. I only wish it was released 6 months ago when I started flying fixed wing. I won't be buying this one personally, as I think I'm a little beyond it now. I am however lobbying my buddy at work to get one as soon as it comes out.

I hate rubberbands!!! Why can't they do the magnets and hooks like on the t28?

Because the wing would come off if you did that^.

This looks like an awesome field plane to train newb pilots. Quiet electric power, and 2.4ghz are a bonus.

Wow, Dx5 radio? Spektrum is comming out with all kinds of goodies now.

Why would the wing come off? There's plenty of options out there other than rubber bands.

White rubber bands would go a long way to making it look better. I forgot to mention that I hate the decals/name.. I mean.. the name makes sense, but to put it all over it like that... Like I really want to show up at the field with "NEWB" written all over my plane..

Guys, I think this thing is great for what it is just the way it is. I'd be willing to teach on it at my club if they decide to purchase one.

It looks attractive, the Z-Foam should help minimize and ease repairs, the rubber bands allow for quick, tool free removal/installation of the wing, the size and power setup are right for flying in moderate winds, flight video looked good, the price is about right for an RTF, etc...

Yep, looks like a nice trainer to me!

Anybody see one of these in their LHS? The web site now says September...

I have one on pre-order but maybe another month...

Hopefully the first batch is simply sold out and I got one of those...

We have the Apprentices in the warehouse, and they should be shipping in about a week. We're not satisfied with the way the LiPos were packed, so we're going to re-package them before sending them to customers. We want to make sure they all arrive safely.

Awsome Dave,

Thank you for the update. Looking forward to getting it. I will be using it as a float plane.

I might order one of these too.. now, it would be my first plane as well. All the RTFs talk about the charger, but it looks like its just two gator clips.. are you supposed to buy a 12volt battery to charge off of?

A big large and heavy to qualify as a parkflyer, isn't it?

First, in my opinion this is not a parkflyer. It is intended to be flown with the help of an instructor. This is really the best way to learn anyway. I did this 32 years ago and have helped countless folks since then.

Most chargers included with RTF airplanes use 12 volts as input. Either use with the battery in your car at the field (or in your driveway) or get a 12 volt power supply to use with wall current.

I use something similar but make sure it is capable of at least 5amps or so. The first one I bought has 4 amp max rating and the second has 6 amps and both work just fine with my Triton Jr. I only charge 2s and 3s LiPo batteries so if you have bigger bats you might need more amps available. If I am wrong or misspoke someone feel free to correct me, like I need to ask for that.
