LiPo left in garden under a brick for 4 months

The photos show a 11.1V LiPo pack that had gone bad (probably through overdischarge) and had been left in the garden under a brick for 4 months.

What I want to know is why you would plant a 3S2P or a 6S1P pack in the garden?

Maybe to grow a lipo tree??

ROTFLMAO. It was a 3S1P for my TRex. I wish it would turn into a LiPo tree, could quit my day job then.

Seriously, I wanted to see if the thing will combust with self discharge. I know one of the cells had already gone bad before I planted it. The other 2 cells quickly puffed up after planting. But no combustion yet :0)

Now I know why we just had a blizzard, the LiPo's affected the climate.
They get blamed for plane fires and everything else.
Why not this?

I could have told ypu the answer..I've stil got a 2 cell pack tyat was up a tree switched on for 6 weeks.

It might burn, but there isn't enough energy to self ignite.
