Cessna T-37 Tweet & A-37 Dragonfly

OK guys.....I posted this in the Electric Warbird Forum under the Horizon Hobby discussion of future product ideas but thought it really belongs in the Foamy EDF Forum.

This is not a new idea but the more I thought about it, the more I wondered...how many pilots would be interested and which companies should consider producing these models. Yes, there are numerous wants lists on this forum but my thought here was to focus in terms of a scale jet trainer/warbird that would appeal across the board from first time EDF pilots who want a scale jet but reatively easy to fly, to the seasoned flyer looking for a nice "scale" jet with lots of scale features. Basically........the Parkzone T-28 of Foamy EDF Jets......the aircraft is Cessna T-37 Tweet/A-37 Dragonfly.

I'm sure it's not the first choice for many in this forum but from an overall fun, forgiving and scale jet trainer/warbird stand point....it could potentially be that all around fun, take it everywhere, go to jet just like the PZ T-28 has been for years. If most, if not all the features listed below are incorporated...this EDF jet could be a great seller and a favorite of many pilots of years to come.

In my humble opinion....with flaps, retractable tricycle landing gear with wide gear stance for great ground handling, lights and both versions being offered, this would be fantastic "scale" EDF trainer/warbird. The real aircraft was flown in many countries, which would help global sales of the model. Talk about ample battery space under the cockpit....add a push button canopy latch to raise the canopy for battery installation, oleo struts, gear doors, red beacon lights on top and bottom of the fuse, wing tip lights, landing lights in the nose, slight dihedral in the wings...like the real one, magnetic tanks and whip antenna.....BAM!.....a big seller.....if it's done right. Offer it as either a 70mm, 80mm or 90mm EDF.

The aircraft has been mentioned on numerous occasions by modelers but nothing yet. Either Freewing or Horizon would do a great job and I'm sure a few other companies.

To be honest, there would be other jet aircraft that could easily be considered like the North American T-2 Buckeye or BAC Jet Provost, CT-114 Tutor, etc.

The questions is which company will be FIRST to produce this iconic Jet Trainer/Warbird?

Thoughts/Interest?

We arrived at 7:45pm this evening and going to bed now. Weather looks good through the weekend. I'll be taking lots of photos and fly lots of foam.

I don't fly EDF but a Dragonfly would tweak my interest. I have also suggested it previously in other threads. Would love to hang it next to my Skyraider.

Yeah...the Hawg was in it's element! An A-10 in Arizona is like frosting on a cup cake....you just gotta GET SOME!

I shot 200 photos today and will post them in on the Arizona Jet Rally Thread over the next few days. Time to get some sleep and looking forward to day two.
