Will an unpainted Stryker frame glow if you turn the LEDs into the surface?

Yes, but don't know how well in the thicker parts.

I have run a blue wonder 1600 kv motor 7x6 prop with an 850 nano tech battery on a light stryker it worked great
Now all my light strikers are fpv some with heavy ezosd and I use a motrofly 1800kv or 2200kv (for the heavier fpv bird) with a 7x6 gws prop and nano tech 900 battery I can get 20 minutes on a calm day if I go easy.

This thing is just about ready to rock. Emax 2805 with a 9050. New servos and ESC. It crashed on 7/13. I know the date because to find this thread i did a quick search. See my crash post from July of 2013. Talk about laggin. Feels good to have it going again. The nose is about 1" shorter, and the motor is a tad heavier. Worked out close the battery needed to move forward a little.

Did you fly it yet ?

I have the Emax 2805 motor & was dis-appointed with it.
On paper, it looked good, but it was rather weak when i tried it.
Ran it on both 2cell & 3cell & tried different props, but i couldn't get the performance i was hoping for.

Good call, had the exact same problem. Tried GWS 8040, 9050, 1060, and APC 9x3.8.
Maybe the HeadsUp specs are a mistake. Im not seeing the same amp draw.
Took RPM readings as well. Will post the specs tomorrow just for general knowledge.

The plane flew again!! Its handles crazy. The rudders are full blown insane. It was windy today there were times the underpowered motor was barely moving the plane forward. After sitting on the potting shelves above my bed for 2 years it was cool to see this thing fly.

Lands like a helicopter. Did about 7 batteries and so far the motor never hit dirt.

Heres what i got. Im at 4000' elevation though. I think the 2805 1600kv might have been a better choice for. Im not sure it was available when i bought my 1300kv a year or 2 ago. Was going for more thrust over high speed.

APC 9x3.8 using a 1600mah battery:
14,160 RPM
11.63volt low--12.45volt resting
113watt
9.69A

APC 9x3.8 using 800mah Glacier Ice:
13,800 RPM
11.63volt low--12.43v resting
116.5 watt
9.89A

GWS 1060:
12,360 RPM
11.49v low-12.30v rest
129 watt
11.06A

The GWS 9050 prop was around 9.xx amps.
