using. Watched your last vid with computer plugged into 50" plasma screen the other night, and I literally had to look away each time because it was too bright. My dad had a similar reaction while just watching on his computer. ian Last edited by Daemon; Dec 30, 2008 at 10:23 PM. |

I have a question?
Looks like you have a GPS on your nose? Where is the OSD? For close flying you guys don't use OSD? Cool vid BTW Quote:

I fixed the landing gear and took this out into pretty good evening weather. And I'm starting to get the hang of this FPV with the panning camera feel. It feels good to fly it and be looking around even though I'm limited to three views right now.

Hi David,
Yea ive got a blackstork OSD which ive never really had going properly.. ive got a test video up on my youtube page but a wrong input diagram on the OSD killed 2 lipos before they told me that the diagram was reversed from the factory... thanks guys... Anyway I havent really been too keen to use it since then... the firmware needed replacing aswell, kinda dogey but it seems great now with the latest firmware. Also both fields I fly in I know very well so I dont really need the osd. Im planning a trip away from the city to do some cloud flying, if they get low enough... ill be using the OSD for that one ![]() Thanks for the comments too !! Max Quote:

I'll post this edited video back up by request. Sadly I lost some of the other videos when I accidentally deleted a ISO file on my hard drive.
This was my J3 Cub from Nitroplanes. I had a '32' sized motor in it with a 3200mah 4 cell Lipo. The video TX is a 900mhz 500mw setup from Range Video. I was using the Oracle diversity setup. You can hear the audio switch when the TX switches. On the ground I was using a 8dbi patch and omni.
Sadly the plane decided to do the Cub spin of death later on that month. I decided to put together another one, and that one suffered a similar fate. Needless to say I've scraped any future CUB projects. |

A lot of videos don't include the plane. It is a unique experience. Rick |

Yeah Typ, thats awsome.
I love seeing FPV flights from the cockpit. You should have left the windows in, maybe that was the cause of the stall spins. Top stuff, wish we could see more videos like this. Cheers |

The windows would cause a nasty glare and had to be removed. The stall spins is just the nature of the beast. The plane was a really good 'scale flying' plane. It was a very poor choice for practical FPV flying. I'm sure another plane will come along.

No, the trees missed their calling that day for sure. Did you download it to watch it full screen? I would encourage people to do that for the best experience. What camera do you have? That is another plane. That's the original big white plane that is in my video on Vimeo. After making the second one to pan the camera I cut that one down and decided to finally get around to putting the Cannon G9 on there to get some quality still pictures. It worked but it's scary and too fast and I'm not sure I'm going to do that much with it. I have to give it a try on a sunny day in full sun to see how the pictures turn out but I wasn't impressed with the ones I took in the evening sun. Happy New Year! -Paul |

Happy New Year! I have a Jazz HD178. Amazing results for it's cost. Still looking for the other components to downlink. Lots of choices. No decisions yet. I go to Vimeo to watch your videos. I have HD on and can watch over without reloading. I'm guessing that's the best I can do? Rick |

Just a suggestion. The camera you are using has a wide angle lens - and causes a standard fisheye distortion. To compensate for that put your 4:3 video into a different aspect ratio of 16:9. Basically stretch the whole video to be 16:9. By doing that it overcomes the curvature distortion displayed and makes it look even better. Try it. Dafydd |

could be cured by simply increasing the size of the vertical and horizontal stabs. They look proportionately small to me. ian |
