Check out Nike Park up the street on Rt-7 and Utterback Store Road. It's a bit tighter but has a huge open parking lot. I was trying carrier landings over there a few years ago with Aerosodle. |

Yes, It's Baron Cameron, it's very convenient as it's between home and work so it's easy to hit it on the way to work in the morning and there is nobody there except those at the dog park. I haven't run into the dog park patrol guy at all. I've had the Fairfax county police say hi but they don't tell me to leave, in fact they have told me it's ok. Like anything else though if fifty people were there every day causing a nuisance then it wouldn't be ok so don't tell anybody about it ok?
![]() I've heard of some of the history of how it used to be a fly field. I feel honored to be carrying on the tradition. I've been to the Nike Park as well as many others around here testing them all. I like the Cricket field at lake Fairfax and the Barron Cameron park the best. But I always have looked a flying at these parks as practice for the day I can fly from a place like Occoquan or a beach in Florida or Maine. But on a nice day it's always good wherever.I'd really like to fly down near the sailing marina to get sights of the Potomac and Washington DC but I'm sure I'd get shot down or arrested for such a stunt in these paranoid times. I was even at the mall once watching the kite fliers and thinking hmmmm. ![]() -Paul |

Well the ADIZ is now permanent 15 miles from DCA. Just don't get to get to close. Check out these private soccer fields down near Woodbridge. Some pretty good water access there. Usually I'd fly the river at Algonkian.

The new turret look is quite good. Faster, may not be so good. Here, those light poles you fly by are magnetic....seem to attract my planes. What lens did you adapt for wide angle? I saw the connecting method in the plane setup video. It seems to work. Thanks, Rick |

It works well but you are right faster is not good, like today for instance, I took it out to someplace new and didn't plan my landing zone good enough so I got in trouble and came down hard. The landing gear came off and I think I stripped the servo that controls the pan turret. I'm not using a wide angle on this one because it would stick out in the airstream too far and the weight would be tossed around each time it turned plus the thing is heavy enough as is. Oh and in the tough landing I just missed a pole, it was pretty dramatic, I'll post it when I get a chance. -Paul |

Nice one kestasxxx! Is there any way to download the original file on You Tube?
I'd like to see that one in full resolution. It looked pretty good on the You Tube page in HD though. Thanks, -Paul |

Well,here's the last test video..
5-15mph winds and gray skies... My wife wore the glasses today letting me know when there was a small glitch. The video shows a few, but my wife says there were not that many and they were less pronounced. She said the small glitches I did get were more like a small pzzzzzt and that was it. Could the recording software cause a small delay making the gitch seem bigger/longer or more pronounced? Next flight I wear the goggles....
