If this is not working for you then you may have an issue with the receiver (or something else). Regards, - Birger |

I'm using the s.bus connection with a DJI Wookong flight controller, which, uses channels 1 to 8. I want to use one of the conventional channels to control something separate, lights or a servo etc, so I guess I need to make conventional input 1 or 2 work for channel 9 or something?

UK, You can't reassign any channels on any Futaba receivers. PWM outputs are always available and numbered according to the label.
S.bus channels and s.bus to PWM converters can be whatever you want. So if you have lots of money you can buy a converter and put your analog stuff on CH9, etc. Otherwise, change your DJI code to free up a low channel. |

There's a TV show on CH4 in the UK right now called The Plane Crash where they're flying a full size passenger jet with a Futaba 8fg in a Marchetti SF 260 plane so they can crash the passenger jet and see what happens, I mean get it all on film (inside and out) so they can use it to see what happens in a crash for real, also using telemetry and crash test dummies.

That was aired over here in the US as well. Exactly, the guy was flying the airliner with an 8FG! Nice endorsement. So everyone knows, they took off with a crew, then the guy with the transmitter flew up next to it in a Cessna Skymaster, then after they confirmed he had control the crew bailed out. He was only controlling it from landing approach until it made a 2000 ft/min descent to a crash landing. I missed the beginning so I didn't see any of the gear used to remotely control the plane. Must be some honking servos

Yeah, they were going to use a Marchetti SF 260 to chase as it's a lot faster, but the fuel pump was shot so they switched to the Cessna, which could only just keep up. It's just got to the bit where the pilot has bailed out so there's no one left in the plane. Quite spooky.
![]() P.S. The servos aren't super massive, maybe about the size of car shocks. |
