These are all custom made plywood frames, one of a kind. Never had a problem with them, quite light and durable.

Yes, You are correct. All those plywood frames are laser cut from AutoCAD models. I cannot give any close-ups at the moment but I can say a few words about the quad frame. It is made for Turnigy Plush 25A ESC's, RcTimer 750 kV motors and for any 45x45mm flight controller + HK Quad Power Board. There is a special spot for ESC's in the arm that keeps them locked in one place. In the center there is enough space for a 45x45mm power board and flight controller (with Nylon spacers). Motor mounting holes are made so that every motor's wires are faced to the center of the quad. M2M distance is 76 cm. Landing gear is high enough to mount a 5000 mAh battery on the bottom. These is a total of 4 screws used (and no glue).

Well I got my quad together and love it, but It's a little big and heavy. We had a break in the rain today so I took it out to fly and had what I think is an issue with the rx dropping signal mid flight (humidity?), so it ended up falling from way up flat upside down and killed my kk2 lcd screen, though it still works fine.

I am going to try out a MWC board again and cut down the arms. I think there will be substantial weight savings by chopping down the arms a good 3" or so. AUW was 959g. I also killed a bearing in one motor so it's down for now till Monday. Can't wait to fly it after I go through it again.

I'm working on this one. The frame is basically complete, and is built with 1/4 plywood and 3/4x3/4" pine. I'm using HK600 landing gear and a power distribution board. The electronics are ordered, and I'll post pics of the finished product when they get here.

used dji arms and made a custom frame and yaw mount for it.
flies great just need to practice a little more

Thanks, weight of Alu body and arms is 250grams

Too heavy to fly nevertheless..

rated 600gm thrust motor each and 4S 3450mAh pack..

Back to drawing board now with version 2 using CF.. yah no longer using scratch CF.. brand new..

I think it's got more rolling hardware than my office chair, why not try and lose some of that first before giving up on the Al?

haha.. ok sure. lose those overkilling landing gears.. I have that for impact purpose..
