That old gearbox is a little tight so I'll try a newer one out of my Mustang since it's already gutted awaiting retracts..

Wow, my initial thoughts were: They made that motor exactly for that kind of setup. Then, I thought "no way, they would have made it 8.4mm or 8.5mm so you don't need scotch tape for press fit". But now I'm stunt, you just proved that it will more than likely work!! With a cheap Nanotech on top of that. If you have a RPM meter, give us some rating at full throttle, I want to see if it does choke a little or not. Otherwise, even if the flight is shorter, I think those little motors will be hot items for a while! Anxiously waiting for your thrust test for now!

One of them will go into a 4-Site I have NIB and the other will either go in my Polecat or Spitfire. Thanks for the info and leads. I have the 3amp 1S ESCs from my previous attempts. Get them while they're in stock! (I didn't want to chance my LHS being on the end of the supply chain)

That is the 1 million dollar question, isn't it? Why not delay the P-40 product launch and make it BL?

I guess we are still waiting for the FINAL test results. Are any of you guys going to be putting this into a Spitfire/P-40/Corsair? Honestly, my Mustang with a BSX is good enough for me, but the others I'd love to see brushless.

Also, for the Mossie - could this motor be run backwards?

I have the mossie electronics, and Im currently building a P38 Lightening for them. If all goes well I'll equip it with this BL setup.

Only problem with the mossie electronics is there is no port fo a ch1 output. It has the pins there, but instead of going to a 3-pin plug they go to a pcb add-on with 2x 2 pin plugs. I think you could solder a wire to the 3rd pin and use that for the ESC. Or is worse comes to worst you could use the gear ch (xport) and mix it to throttle

I use it on my Twin Gremlins. You need two channels for the ESCs. Put the second one on the rudder channel Mix the throttle to the rudder 100% and then mix -100% rudder to the throttle so when the rudder moves it increases one throttle and decreases the other. Works great.

What P-38 are you setting up? (or is it a scratch built)

coreman - when you say you use it on your twin gremlins - do you mean this set up (mcpx bl motor) or a different set up?

they are 3 pound airplanes. I use this PROGRAMMING to get differential thrust

That twin gremlin is insane Never have I seen a flat spin like that before

But the twins with differential wont work with the ar6400's (unless you have a DX8 and do some crazy mxing). I think I might use a 6ch Orange RX on it now it to get the full functionality
