Flitework Shiny RR

A no-nonsense balsa night flyer.

Splash

A Unique RTF Night Flyer

The Shiny is fitted with an array of internally-mounted white LED's that make for an impressive lighting show without the glare associated with externally mounted lights. While the majority of night flyers are foam, the Shiny is an all-balsa built up design with a translucent covering and a very attractive graphics design.

The Shiny comes with motor, esc, and servos installed. It requires a radio system and a 3s 2200mAh LiPo. SInce there's no landing gear, the Shiny comes with a folding prop.

Shiny - King of the night (2 min 14 sec)

Too bad they didn't shoot the video at night instead of dusk. It looks like there is very little definition between top and bottom. In the video when out a little it looks all white top and bottom. Hopefully its just a bad video.

From the Tech Notes section...

"IMPORTANT, Do NOT use a 4S LiPo battery. It will destroy the lighting system, and could cause a fire in the plane."

Or better yet, a lightweight voltage regulator. Personally I'll stick with the stock power system. I have a feeling it will be pretty peppy as is. I do understand that some people just want more powa!!

Looks Piggy and nose heavy.
Love to see it with a 4s.
Definitely want to run lights with separate lipo.

Very cool.

My thing is, this is a great design for a park flyer pylon plane. No one makes anything like this as an ARF. No that I know of. They are fun, and they are tough.

That is the first thing I noticed too. White top and bottom. To bad.

There was a very similar Great Planes design in the mid 90s called the Electro Streak. It ran off of a 6 cell NIMh. It was fast as heck but suffered from the same poor slow speed performance.
I may be wrong, it may just be a poor video and an awfully balanced plane, but it looks like it's a bit sluggish no?

It does

In a similar but smaller airframe, I just ordered one of these for some speed mod thrills.
